10 Things I Hate Not To Love About You.

Anyone could want and aim for many things in life ---- career, wealth, fame, talent--- the list could go on and on. From all the things that we could want and need, love will always be on top of it (admit it or not).

So I consider myself lucky (naks!) to find someone who could truly love me (as in!) in every way that he can. So in lieu of celebrating a half  decade of being together, I dedicate this post to you!

I know for  a fact that I rarely thank you for all the things you do to make our relationship work. You know I'm not the sentimental type but I made a mental list of 10 things (among others) that I love about you.

10 THINGS I HATE NOT TO LOVE ABOUT YOU

10. Patience is really a virtue. - It's in my genes to run late all the time and it's in your genes to arrive early all the time (haha). As a result, if we agreed to meet in one place, you would always wait for me for hours. When I finally arrived, instead of fussing about my "habitual tardiness", you would smile at me, approach me and hold my hand and we'll go on about  our plans for the day.

9. My Life Support (literally) - You always support me in my goals and things that I want to do. When I was having my OJT in two schools in Baguio as a Student Counselor, you would help me prepare my materials for my group dynamic activity. Even when I started blogging, you were usually the first one to read my posts and you even urged your friends to check my blog (haha!).

8. Through Good Times and Bad Times. - You always say that it makes you happy when I'm happy and you never fail to make me feel that way. You are one of the few people who will be genuinely happy for my successes. And, when I'm having a bad day at work or at home, all I have to do is to call you and you will do everything in your power to make me feel better.

7. Overprotective -  You tend to be over protective about so many things. Did I already say over protective? hehe. Well, I admit that sometimes (if not most of the time) it irritates me. But on the other hand, I realized I don't want a lenient boyfriend who wouldn't care if I go home late or if I party every night and so on. So even if you tend to be very protective of me, I feel happy and thankful that you're like that because it only shows how much you really care for me.

6. "Pride"-less - Whenever we fight on something, no matter what the reason is, you will always be the first one to say I'm sorry, the first one to patch things up, the first one to insist that we talk about it and settle it immediately.

5. Jack of all trades - You might not realize this but I admire how informed you are about so many things. I often ask you the most random topics and you have answers for it, be it politics, religion, technology and current events.

4. My Man - When I was young and my friends would ask me about "What is your ideal guy?" (y'know usual teenage stuff) I would often answer this: my ideal guy is just like my dad. At that time, I don't really took my answer seriously, for me it was an automatic response from a teenage girl like me. But now, looking at you I feel blessed because just like my dad, you don't have any vices (well, does addiction to airplanes count? lol). Just like my dad, you have an undying and strong faith to the Lord, you're even a way better Christian than I am..and I understand and admire your ministry. Whenever we go to a new place, you will always look for a Church and we will visit it and pray together. I know in my heart that just like my dad to my mom, you will be faithful to me and you will love me for a very long time.

3. Yin and Yang - We are so different in so many ways. You are too organized and I'm not. I am more practical while you usually go for what is more convenient no matter what it costs. I tend to have a carefree spirit while you are too cautious about everything. Even our line of interests usually do not meet, well, except for travelling which we both love. But despite all our differences, we compliment one another, we support each other and compromise all the time. I can say that I  became a better person since I met you.

2. Sweet nothings - In the middle of our conversation and there will be a momentarily pause, out of the blue you will say "I love you.", I will usually smile at your random sweetness and I will answer back. Every morning, I will  receive a text from you reminding me to take care and telling me you love me. Whenever we are sitting and waiting for something, be it in a bus terminal, airport or just in the middle of a heavy traffic, instead of making yourself busy about something, you will choose to hold my hand.

1. A for Effort - After our graduation, you migrated to the U.S.. As a result, we are apart most of time. But to you, distance is never a hindrance. Ever since you went away, you always make sure that you come home to the Philippines every year. Last year, you even visited me thrice. And even though I always miss you, my longing eases because you never fail to call and text me every day. Whenever I go out during late hours, you will wake up in the middle of the night (considering our 6-hour time difference) to call me and  to check if I'm already home. Even though you're miles away, you still manage to send me chocolates, cards and flowers. We may not be geographically near to each other but you never take me for granted. You continue to love me and take care of me in every way that you can.

And, I want you to know that I will always love you in every way that I can.

Finding our way around Tagaytay!

In the midst of my post birthday dinner celebration with friends, we impulsively decided to go to Baguio for the long weekend. But on a second thought, we realized that all of us are on tight budget so we opt for Tagaytay instead. haha!

With a little help from Google, we packed our bags and started our Tagaytay adventure.

Getting There
We met at Mcdonald's near LRT Gil Puyat station around 7:00 in the morning. Our initial plan was to take the van going to Tagaytay but the van will not leave until the passengers are complete. We did not want to waste our time waiting for the van to be full so we took the bus going to Sta. Rosa Balibago instead. Bus fare is around 60php. From Sta. Rosa Balibago, we rode a tricycle (10php each) to the market where the terminal of jeepneys going to Tagaytay is located. From there, we took the jeepney (40 php each) to Olivarez Plaza.

Looking for a place to stay
Thru my research, I came across Keni Po rooms and saw that it has good reviews from blogs. So from Olivarez, we rode a tricycle (10php each) and told the driver to take us there. We have no reservations whatsoever and we were just totally hoping and praying that they still have available rooms --- and guess what??-- they did! We booked for an overnight stay good for 4 persons and Viola! --- we were given a family room which only costs 2000php or 500php each.

Honestly, given the price I was not expecting too much but when we saw the place..we were surprised that the room actually has complete facilities. The family room is like a bachelor's pad with sala, kitchen, bathroom and an air conditioned bedroom with two beds. The kitchen is equipped with a gas stove so you can cook food or re-heat them. It also has several eating utensils that you can use. Convenient, isn't it?

What I also like about Keni Po is that the whole place is clean and the staff are very accommodating. Their amenities include a swimming pool, mini garden and free wifi!!

feel at home na ang mga bagsss!!

Tian, Me and Mario at the garden.

Shammy by the pool!

Picnic Grove

From Keni Po, we rode a tricyle (10php each) to Picnic Grove. With an entrance fee of 30php, Picnic Grove is one of the most visited places in Tagaytay . This is a suitable place for families, friends or couples who wanted to relax, have picnic and experience the cool breeze while enjoying the view of the Taal Lake. It also offers group activities like horse back riding, cable car ride and zip line.

Leslie's Restaurant

From Picnic Grove, we went to Leslie's restaurant to have lunch. We rode a tricycle and paid 30php each, quite pricey but Leslie's is really far from Picnic Grove and we were too hungry to wait and look for jeepneys.

Leslie's is famous for their special bulalo and nice ambiance. The restaurant have a magnificent view of the Taal Lake and they also have an in-house band who will serenade the customers while they eat.
Try their special bulalo good for 5 persons for only 599 php.

a magnificent view of Taal

Sonya's Garden

From Leslie's, we rode a jeepney  (17php each) going to Nasugbu and asked the driver to drop us off in Buck Estate. From Buck Estate, we rode a tricycle (8php each) to Sonya's Garden. There is no entrance fee but I suggest that you buy their pastries and bread because they are delicious and affordable. You can also take it home as pasalubong.

We just wanted to see the place that's why we went here but other people would visit Sonya's to eat at their restaurant or to pamper themselves at Sonya's Sensuous Spa. Hmmmm.. maybe on my next visit, I'll get a massage.

Caleruega

From Buck Estate, we rode a jeep with a Nasugbu signage (8php each) to Caleruega. They dropped us off in a street where several tricycles are parked. We rode a tricycle (10php each) going to Caleruega Church.
We arrived there at around 5:00 pm in the afternoon and the guards informed us that the park will already close at 5:30 PM. Nevertheless, we still went inside and made the most out of our stay so if you want to maximize your visit, make sure to arrive early. Entrance fee is 30php each.

Caleruega is a beautiful venue for retreats, pre-nuptial photo shoots and weddings. That's why even though we had  limited time to go around the place, the visit was truly worth it.

From Caleruega, we rode a jeepney (25php each) back to Olivarez Plaza. From Olivarez, we rode a tricycle (10 php each)  to Keni Po.

We went back to Manila on the next day but before heading to the bus station at Olivarez, we visited the Good Shepherd Convent first to buy ube jam, leche flan and buko pie! Yum!

Tiring, yes.. Fun, definitely! It's always nice to try something new and explore an unfamiliar city on your own. Just always ask for directions and you'll never lose your way. *wink!*

My Top Five Stops in HK!

Hong Kong --- also known as Asia's World City --- attracts tourists world wide by its mesmerizing city of lights, cold climate, varieties of shopping havens and endless entertainment. With just approximately a two-hour flight away from Manila, Hong Kong became one of the most accessible and one of the most visited Asian countries today.

Here are my top five stops in HK.

5. Mong Kok - An HK trip is not complete without shopping! In HK, Mong Kok is  a version of  our very own "Divisoria" where you can satisfy your fashion cravings without hurting your wallet. Ladies' Market and Temple Street in Mong Kok are shopping havens for everyone who wants to use their haggling skills and grab nice bargains. On the other hand, if you prefer to shop for branded clothing, bags and so on then Causeway Bay and Central is the right destination for you. Aside from Chanel, Louis Vuitton and Gucci, you'll also find here popular HK local brands like Giordano and Bossini.

4. Victoria Peak - A Peak Tram ride to the Peak tower will reward you a dazzling view of the city. Well, aside from the stunning scenery of Kowloon and Victoria Harbour, what made our visit to Victoria Peak memorable was the walk inside Madame Tussaud Museum. Here, you can be up close and personal with famous celebrities --- smile with them and pose with them the "Hollywood way".

3. Ocean Park - I'm not an animal lover but I always find aquatic animals very pleasing to the eyes. I don't know if it's just the color blue which has a calming effect on people but fishes are really more interesting to watch compared to mammals or reptiles. Also, pandas are la-la-love! These cute black and white bears look so fluffy and soft that I want to hug them!

2. Ngong Ping 360 - A cable car ride to Ngong Ping Village will give you an aerial view of North Lantau. Travellers go to Ngong Ping to see the Po Lin Monastery and The Big Buddha. I find this place a living description of serenity, peace and tranquility. Too bad, the fogs are too thick when we went there that we weren't able to see the full view of The Big Buddha. Nevertheless, the visit was all worth it.

Just imagine that there is no fog!!! LOL!

1. Disney Land - Admit it or not, each one of us grew up loving at least one of  the Disney Characters. Disney Land will always be a place for all ages because it will bring back the child in you. Excitement already begins when you ride the Disney MTR, where Mickey and Minnie is found everywhere. This will be your gateway inside Disney's magnificent sights.

Aside from the magical place and fairy tales brought to life, I felt a sense of pride to watch Filipino Entertainers sing and dance in  the Festival of the Lion King show and Disney on Parade.

After all the fun and magic, an enchanting fireworks display at the end of the night will leave you craving for more!

Xie xie HK! Until my next visit! :)
